Mini Me Rentals is an innovative and wholesome baby and child equipment hire company, dedicated to making travelling with littlies stress-free and convenient for those in Invercargill, Te Anau, Queenstown, and the wider Southland area. Founded by Carolyn, a passionate entrepreneur driven to simplify the journey for parents and caregivers, Mini Me Rentals offers a wide selection of high-quality equipment for travellers to hire as needed. Carolyn reached out to Talk Visual with a vision for a baby equipment hiring service but didn’t know how to bring her idea to life.

After a meeting with our team, we formulated a plan of what she would need to get this business off the ground – and it all started with a name. This critical process involved tapping into our in-house mum knowledge and getting out our good ‘ol thesaurus to create a brand name that fit just right. After presenting Carolyn with three carefully curated brand name options, Mini Me Rentals was selected as the perfect choice, embodying the cutesy yet practical nature of the service. With the brand identity established, we moved on to presenting Carolyn with three distinct mood boards to guide the logo design, brand colours, and overall aesthetic.

Brand Development and eCommerce

The chosen direction struck the perfect balance between childlike charm and sophisticated appeal, ensuring Mini Me Rentals would be visually recognisable as a children’s service, but also stand out to the parents or grandparents responsible for hiring the equipment. Armed with Carolyn’s feedback and preferences, our team set to work producing Mini Me Rentals’ branding elements, including the logo, colour palette, and visual assets.

With the brand identity finalised, we turned our attention to designing a website built using a ‘test the market’ method where users can send an enquiry form. After the testing period, Carolyn’s plan would switch to stage two with an integrated booking and payment system. Careful consideration was given to UX/UI design principles to ensure clarity and ease of navigation, particularly in the eCommerce section where customers could browse available items, rental durations, and booking details. The result was a cohesive online platform that would showcase Mini Me Rentals’ equipment.

FAQs

We know working with a design team can seem daunting. But here’s a few common questions that tell you a little more about working with us.

Every client and project is unique, but our objective always remains the same. Unlike other studios where you will only communicate with a project manager, every one of us is hands-on, and your point of contact will be the person working directly on your project. This ensures a more personalised and direct line of communication and allows for a better understanding and execution of your vision.

Something unique about us is we are all on the tools! What does this mean for you? Well, it means you when you meet with us and brainstorm for a project you will be talking with someone who has a good understanding of how the ideas could be executed, pick up any road bumps or even push the ideas further.

Something unique about us is we are all on the tools! What does this mean for you? Well, it means when you meet with us to brainstorm a project, you will be talking with someone who has an understanding of how the ideas could be executed, can pick up any road bumps, make recommendations, or push ideas even further.

Our team is intentionally small, valuing direct client contact and having the ability to deliver a more personalised experience.

Many of the skills needed within graphic design and visual communication services relate to one another. With a strong theoretical and practical understanding (as well as a heck of a lot of experience) our team can be versatile in the services we offer.

But we also know our limits, having a range of other specialist professionals in our contact list to take charge when a required skill isn’t our strong suit.

Each of us understands the value of personal and professional development, and we never stop learning newskills or taking the time for training.

Not at all! We work with clients from various locations, and geographical proximity is not a limitation. We can communicate effectively through virtual meetings, phone calls, and email. Regardless of your location, we are committed to providing the same level of dedication and support to all our clients.
