Known around town as Barry Stewart Builders, but we know they are so much more than that! Aiming to show they are an innovative design and build company in Southland, Barry Stewart branched out and developed a couple more divisions: Barry Stewart Design, where their in-house architectural designers who are up for a challenge and will always have the right person ready for your project; and, Barry Stewart Homes, which is the division for all things ‘residential’. Whether you’re looking to build from one of their 60+ floor plans keeping it as is or customised.

Brand Redesign Strategy

We got to jump in and get creative. After establishing a plan, we started with a revamped logo that reflected the ‘new Barry Stewart’ brand. In developing concepts, we wanted to consider the story behind the company – a united brand web that offers multiple services. The services can be interconnected with one another and this was reflected in the continuous line we have incorporated in the logo icon where we kept everything connected and flowing. The interrupted lines and dashed represent the steps and stages clients are lead through to reach their goals. We created three different building styles to ensure different service areas were covered, as well as tying in with the already existing typeface, which is robust and bold. The panels are a visual tool we have used to differentiate the divisions of the Barry Stewart brand.

The colour palette has been chosen to not only reflect each division but also as a whole brand. The chosen colours are bold and create contrast when used with the Barry Stewart blue. The Barry Stewart blue is the foundation of the brand and is what helps the public connection.

We continued to work alongside Barry Stewart to create and maintain an online presence. Their website got a makeover, their Facebook page became strongly branded and frequently updated with onsite photos, building articles, and information. Once their team were ready, we handed over the reins, and with some guidance, they now maintain their website and Facebook page in-house.

Our team is intentionally small, valuing direct client contact and having the ability to deliver a more personalised experience.

Many of the skills needed within graphic design and visual communication services relate to one another. With a strong theoretical and practical understanding (as well as a heck of a lot of experience) our team can be versatile in the services we offer.

But we also know our limits, having a range of other specialist professionals in our contact list to take charge when a required skill isn’t our strong suit.
